Yesterday was a good day. I got both my parents hooked (I hope) on myfitnesspal.com. My dad seemed willing enough, as he always does at the start of one of his diet fads. He says he wants to lose 30 lbs. My faith in myfitnesspal is way high, after what it did for me, but I know it’s all dependent on how much you do with it. Fingers crossed, because I would really like for him to be healthier. My mom was a little less enthused, but I know it’s because she already eats well and exercises regularly (yaawwwn).
Did Saladworks for dinner. I had the mandarin chicken salad, which was delicious but sooo high in sugar! Next time, I’ll ask them to go easy on the craisins.
Then, I went to the gym for my Personal Challenge workout. I decided to just finish a 5k on the treadmill, no matter how long it took me, jogging or walking.
Well, roughly 45 minutes later, I had finished my 3.1 miles. 22 of those minutes were spent jogging at a 4.8 mph pace, and the rest was walking at 3.8 mph, which my mother later informed me is kind of pathetic.
BUT I AM PATHETIC, SO SUE ME! Seriously, my focus last night was staying on that treadmill until I was done. I have always had an endurance problem; sustained effort was never my forté, but if I want to be a runner, I figure I’d better start getting used to it.
